ROLE DESCRIPTION

Firefighters, first responders, law enforcement officers, industrial workers, military service members and emergency response teams nationwide are exposed to life-threatening situations conducting search, incident response, ISR, and dozens of other activities during fires, explosions, HazMat spills, leaks, WMD, active shooter attacks, barricaded subjects and more leading to tens of thousands of injuries, dozens of fatalities, lifelong illnesses, and billions lost in time, assets, and medical costs.

Paradigm Robotics flagship product, FireBot is the world’s first high-temperature resistant robot designed to augment first response operations, searching structure fires and hazardous environments for humans and hazards, protecting firefighters and emergency response teams. FireBot is an incredibly rugged obstacle climbing unmanned ground vehicle outfitted with a modular and advanced sensor suite that provides life-saving mission-critical situational-awareness in the most hazardous conditions. FireBot safely and efficiently searches for humans and unknown hazardous materials, reducing exposure to life-threatening environments. FireBot’s award-winning technology revolutionizes firefighting by providing a reliable, cutting-edge, and affordable platform, mitigating hundreds of fatalities, $6B of annual injuries, and illnesses - keeping our heroes safe.

Recognizing similar challenges and hazards to civil workers in disaster response, public safety, industrial manufacturing, and other similar industries, the platform has expanded beyond firefighting. Expanding into a modular, versatile, unique plug-and-play platform, our technology enables robust inspection, efficient operations augmentation, and increased standard of safety. In industrial applications, FireBot addresses the needs of rescue workers by providing a robust, CBRNE-resistant, HazMat-proof unmanned ground vehicle (UGV) that can mitigate risks and provide vital information in dangerous environments. FireBot is hazardous-proof, fire-proof, bullet-proof (Class IIIA), heat-proof, dust-proof, water-proof - a rugged, multi-purpose, versatile robotic platform able to climb rubble, stairs, and debris, and able to carry 300+lbs and move over 12 ft/s loaded with advanced sensors such as thermal, optical, radar (for 3D mapping), HazMat sensors, and more.

FireBot is a complex system with many novel challenges. The mechanical systems are no exception. Having developed our V4 platform under the guidance of world-class faculty and advisors, we are currently developing novel propulsion and structure systems for our next generation, commercial Gen 1 platform that will withstand these conditions.
